Our supporters, partners and friends keep the LEH mission alive every day through donations, grants and subscriptions to Louisiana Cultural Vistas magazine. On Tuesday, May 6, the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s GiveNOLA Day offers an extraordinary one-day, online giving event to benefit New Orleans area nonprofits. Every dollar you donate to the LEH through the GiveNOLA portal will be increased by additional “lagniappe” dollars provided by GNOF and their generous GiveNOLA sponsors.
More than 300 area nonprofits will participate in GiveNOLA Day. This “crowdfunding” model involves a special competition. At the end of the event, every agency will receive a proportional share of GNOF’s matching fund based upon its percentage of the total dollars raised. If an agency receives 5% of the total donations raised during GiveNOLA Day, that agency will receive 5% of the matching dollars.
We love the many hardworking organizations in New Orleans, but on May 6, the LEH wants to win.
We’ll be good sports, we promise. But at 11:59 pm on May 6, we want to climb to the top of 938 Lafayette Street and shout to New Orleans, “Thanks for making us #1 on GiveNOLA Day! We love you!”
